Join us for a relaxing evening dinner chat in Central!
IFC Podium is a great place to gather while enjoying the night view of Victoria Harbour. It is a public space for all, so feel free to bring your own food/takeaway and join us for a great night. EAHK will bring drinks (non-alcoholic & alcoholic) and snacks.
Dinner takeaway options at IFC include Shake Shack, Tim Ho Wan, City Super, Omusubi etc.
You can join us anytime between 7:00pm to 9:00pm.
Discussion topic: Repugnant Conclusion
At 8pm, we will hold a session in small groups to discuss our views on Derek Parfit's Repugnant Conclusion, and how it may influence our thoughts on cause prioritisation.
Is a much larger population of people on Earth actually better for us? According to Derek Parfit's repugnant conclusion, it may lead to higher total happiness. This is the branch of philosophy known as population ethics.
Don't worry if you are not familiar with the 'Repugnant Conclusion', here's a short video about the idea. We will also prepare a few questions to guide the discussion.
