About the Event
How do Chinese philosophers and theorists make sense of 'existential risks' - the concept in general and the various kinds of x-risks identified within the Western Effective Altruism community? Is 'existential risks' even intelligible (or translatable) a concept in Chinese philosophical discourse?
Join us on the 23rd of September (Saturday) for our next meetup, focusing on understanding ‘Existential Risks’ in Chinese Philosophical Thought with Brian Wong Yue Shun. Dr. Brian Wong is an Assistant Professor in Philosophy at Hong Kong University. He is a political theorist and geopolitical strategist whose research examines authoritarian regimes and citizens’ political and moral responsibilities, colonial and historical injustices, and the interaction between domestic politics and states' foreign policy in East Asia, especially China.
